JOSEPH LORUSSO

To view all work available by Joseph Lorusso visit artsy. Joseph Lorusso was deeply influenced by the Italian Masters he was exposed to in his childhood travels to Italy. Later influences of the Impressionists and other virtuoso’s of painterly expression such as Sargent and Sorolla have all coalesced into Lorusso’s impressive body of work. Whether richly hued landscapes or warmly lit narrative depictions, Lorusso evokes the deep sense of beauty found in the quiet times of daily life. Carefully chosen, thick brush strokes imbue a vitality to the paint application that charges even his most sedate scenarios. An internationally exhibited and honored painter, Lorusso maintains a studio in Kansas City where he has taught painting and drawing at the Kansas City Art Institute in addition to the Scottsdale Artists School of Arizona.

There is some kind of underlying current that binds all people together, and I look at art—any kind of art—as a trigger for that connection.
